Keep a Journal of Your Diet, Exercise and Moods
Since we are looking for improvement in our daily life, an important step is to track your results. Without quantifying your results, it will be hard for you to measure what is working and what is missing the target. At the beginning of each week you should start by recording your weight for water purposes (Ill explain that in article #5: Drink Adequate Water for Your Body Weight). Each day you should record how you feel physically and mentally. Also, you need to record what you did to give you that particular feeling.
It doesnt really matter how much you write, just write! You may choose to do your journaling at the end of each day, but I feel it would be better use of the journal to write down feelings as they are happening. This way you wont forget how excited, angry or frustrated you feel over certain situations. It is important for you to see your daily progression, or decline because no matter the result, it is fact, not guess work that will lead you to success and ultimately, your goal of happiness. I wish I could tell you exactly what will help you, but we shouldnt be naive going into this. We suffer from different ailments for different reasons. The same things will not work for everyone.
Please do not take this step lightly. Keeping this journal will be an important tool for you to map out your daily step-by-step progression. It may be hard for you to do at first, but the more you do it, the easier it will get.
